The monastery The founding of the monastery influenced the development of the village to a great extent. Today's seminary school grew out of the former monastery school, and the writers' and painters' schools. In 1815 Engelberg became part of Canton Obwalden. |

Titlis Rotair While gliding up to Mt. Titlis (3000m AMSL), there is presented a spectacular view onto the glacier to the passengers. The cabin of the Cableway is rotary and transports up to 880 passengers per hour. The Engelberg Skiarea encompasses 82 kilometres of ski runs and 20 Mountain Restaurants! |
